Meet our Claims team

In the nicest possible way, if you are fortunate, you will never meet our Claims Team.  However, if this year has taught us anything… its always best to be prepared for when the worst happens.  That’s why we have a team here to help you through every step of the claims process if ever you need it.

So just in case you need to make a claim at some stage in the future, we’d like to introduce our Claims Team to you.

Insurance Claims might not seem like a fun job, but our Claims team here at Rivers is definitely passionate about helping our clients get fast and great outcomes during what can be an extremely stressful time. They understand exactly how you are feeling and make sure they provide ongoing communication and updates, so you can move on with enjoying life and getting back to normal.

Dan Cousin – Senior Claims Manager

Dan (or Cuz for those in the know) deals with both Domestic and Commercial claims and is the leader of the Claims Team. He loves working with you to get your life and business back on track. In his downtime, he is a passionate Collingwood supporter (yes I know… not sure how we employed a Collingwood Supporter!), loves all sports and spending time with his wife and dog.

Bernadette Stewart – Claims Manager

Bernie is no stranger to helping people through her work in the insurance industry with close to 10 years in the industry.   You can find her front and centre as a Claims Manager, especially when you need it the most. Since starting with Rivers in 2018, Bernie has been a dedicated member of the team and a supportive and calming influence when clients experience hardship.  She regularly brings her fur baby Sash into the office, a gorgeous,  placid German Shepard who loves lots of hugs from everyone.

Jodie Rebgetz – Claims Assistant

Jodie might be a recent additional to the Rivers team but has 9 years of experience in the industry.  I know she looks too young right…  must be all the exercise.  She deals mainly with Property and Business Interruption Claims and loves being able to give our clients a positive claims experience.

The top 5 Funny things described on claims forms (not our clients of course !) –

• I left my car unattended for a minute, and whether by accident or design, it ran away.
• A bull was standing near and a fly must have tickled him, because he gored my car.
• As I approached the intersection, a sign suddenly appeared in a place where no stop sign had ever appeared before. I was unable to stop in time to avoid the accident.
